Mecca in Acocks Green is a popular bingo hall that sits around 3 miles to the South East of Birmingham in the Tyseley area. It is one of the larger Mecca Bingo halls and is certainly larger than most of the other bingo halls in the local area, this seems to make it particularly popular with the locals.
It is easy to get to, just off the A41 and A45 (two of the main routes into Birmingham City Centre) and you can arrive by car (plenty of on-site parking is available) as well as by bus. If taking public transport than the best method is via bus using routes 11 or 37. There are also local train stations nearby at Tyseley or Acocks Green and they run the local London Midland services from many local areas including in and out of Birmingham New Street.
The facilities at this venue are second to none thanks to the custom built building that houses this Mecca. You will find a bright, spacious and comfortable hall along with a well stocked bar and decent dining facilities that serve good reasonably priced food.
As well as the bingo you will also find arcade games, slot machines and pool.
There are disabled facilities and a hearing loop for those with partial hearing.
There is plenty of bingo to be played at Acocks Green thanks to extended opening hours and a bustling crowd that just love the game. The opening hours are easy to remember as they are the same each day. Monday to Sunday 11am to 12am – nice and simple.
The session times do vary a little more with Saturday being the busy day with morning sessions included that start from 11.45am. Weekdays, the afternoon sessions start at 11.50am and go right through to 2.45pm start times. Evening sessions then start at 6.30pm, 7pm and 9.20pm.
The prices vary quite substantially depending on which type of game you are playing and on which day you are playing it. Luckily, the jackpots also differ so generally the more you pay, the more you stand to win.
Prices start at just £1 (Saturday early afternoon session) and go up to a massive £21 on a Sunday evening at 7pm. The 9.20pm Sunday evening game goes back down to £3 so you do need to plan your times according to your budget.
